NCERT announces doctoral fellowships 2017 for research

The National Council of Educational Research and Training announces NCERT Doctoral Fellowships 2017 for eligible candidates. NCERT is going to offer fellowships to young scholars to endow with opportunities in research. The motto is to build the knowledge base of education in the modern disciplinary perspective. For conducting research at the doctoral level, the NCERT is aiming to offer fellowships, as the name of NCERT Doctoral Fellowships.

Priority Areas
Fellowship will be provided for research pertaining to the following precedence areas. Those are:

  1. Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA)
  2. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA)
  3. Concerns related to Teacher Education Schemes
  4. Teacher Educators' Education
  5. Education of the Disadvantaged
  6. Classroom Processes and Practices
  7. Curricular Areas
  8. Education for Peace
  9. Psycho-social Development of Children
  10. Any Burning Issue in School Education

Eligibility
Candidates should have sound academic record with at least 60% marks at both Graduate and Post Graduate Levels. Age should not exceed 35 years as on the last date of receipt of applications. Candidates registered for PhD Degree in a recognized university/ or about in the process are eligible too.

Fellowship Amount
Non-NET and NET qualified NCERT Doctoral Fellows will receive a fellowship of Rs.14000/ month and Rs.16000/ month respectively for a maximum period of three years. They will also receive an eventuality grant of Rs.10000/- per annum during the tenure.

Only online applications will be accepted till January 8, 2018. Applicants should fill the prearranged format available online at the NCERT website www.ncert.nic.in.
